Summary
Interim Asset Protection Agent responsible for protecting customers, employees, merchandise, and physical spaces by mitigating shrinkage risks, preventing and investigating theft, and supporting emergency response efforts. The role partners with store leadership and local authorities to resolve incidents, conduct investigations, and maintain safety and security standards. This position requires flexible scheduling and adherence to state and local licensing requirements.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents using judgment and conduct apprehensions in accordance with policy and procedures
- Identify theft trends through reporting, surveillance, and technology use
- Implement shrinkage reduction action plans and merchandise protection standards
- Support and escalate internal theft investigations and gather evidence
- Use video systems and RFID data to monitor activity and aid investigations
- Respond to, escalate, and report security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies
- Lead security audits and participate in store meetings and shrinkage awareness training
- Serve on the Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training
- Prepare reports for incidents and testify in court when required
Requirements
- Ability to make accountable decisions and use good judgment in a fast-paced environment
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Maintain confidentiality and a calm demeanor when handling safety issues
- Accountability, initiative, and ownership with a flexible schedule
- Meet state and local licensing requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred
- Ability to build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and law enforcement
