Job Description

Summary

The Interim Maintenance Technician 3 leads and mentors a team to maintain a safe, fully operational store environment across multiple locations. This role supports the Facility Manager by troubleshooting and repairing building systems, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating vendor and administrative tasks. The technician will travel between stores as needed and act as a technical resource on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure HVAC, vertical transportation, refrigeration, entries, signs, and other building systems are operational and efficient
  • Respond to break-fix and on-demand requests, perform advanced troubleshooting, and delegate workorders to Maintenance Technician I/II
  • Lead and perform planned preventive maintenance (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual) with proper documentation
  • Operate and monitor building automation/EMCS, troubleshoot alarms and verify proper system operation
  • Coordinate and communicate with store leadership, vendors, contractors, and property managers
  • Assist with parts ordering, purchase orders, vendor management, and administrative tasks
  • Promote and enforce safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, working at heights, and machine guarding

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required; vocational or associate degree preferred
  • Flexible schedule with availability for days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours; ability to travel to multiple locations
  • 5+ years hands-on facilities experience with emphasis on mechanical systems (HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical)
  • 5+ years conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures
  • Proficient reading electrical schematics and blueprints; experience with a CMMS
  • Familiarity with low-voltage troubleshooting, building automation systems, and mobile/web-based technology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently; ability to lift/carry up to 49 lbs
