Summary
The Interim Operations Manager leads and develops warehouse teams to deliver safety, quality, and performance goals while managing financial targets and continuous improvement initiatives. This role oversees staffing, training, coaching, and performance management for a distribution center team and uses data and systems to drive operational results.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of about 20 employees through coaching and performance management
- Manage recruiting, selection, onboarding, and training of warehouse staff
- Drive warehouse performance using KPIs, 4DX and facility scorecards
- Own process improvement efforts using problem solving and project management methodologies
- Monitor and report on budget, expenditures, and implement corrective actions
- Coach, counsel, and discipline employees as needed to achieve results
- Use warehouse management software and databases to support operations
- Attend professional development to grow technical and leadership knowledge
Requirements
- 5+ years of warehouse experience in a managerial role
- Proven experience implementing continuous improvement actions that improve cost service and quality
- Demonstrated ability to develop others and grow leadership competencies
- Strong knowledge of warehousing KPIs and performance metrics
- Hands on experience with warehouse management systems and databases
- Ability to analyze data and recommend improvement actions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
