Summary
The Regional Internal Investigator supports Asset Protection store teams by identifying, developing, and resolving internal theft cases across the assigned region. This role manages full life cycle investigations, collaborates with regional managers and HR, and prioritizes work based on business impact while traveling to stores as needed.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and resolve high-quality internal theft investigations.
- Certify and support AAPM and APM interview capabilities and approve investigations for presentation to store management.
- Manage execution of high-risk internal theft investigations and oversee multiple cases simultaneously.
- Conduct interview preparation and support store-executed interviews with professional interview techniques.
- Communicate progress of priority investigations to AP teams and conduct weekly business review calls with regional managers.
- Develop custom reporting queries and review APIS incident reports to ensure investigations are evidence based.
- Hold monthly training calls and provide training and mentoring to investigators and store teams.
- Review and close cases in APIS and maintain quality, efficiency, and integrity standards.
- Travel within the region to visit stores and coordinate investigative efforts.
Requirements
- 5+ years loss prevention experience or equivalent law enforcement or military experience.
- Strategic and operational experience in asset protection and multiunit management.
- Wicklander Zulawski Basic Interview Certification.
- Previous exception reporting experience and proficiency with investigative systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to manage competing priorities and work independently and as part of a team.
