Summary
The Inventory Planner develops and manages pre-season and in-season inventory plans for the Baby & Child business. This role uses sales trends, forecasts, and inventory analysis to guide investment decisions, maximize in-stock performance, and support business strategies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze historical performance and current trends to identify opportunities and risks across departments, collections, and SKUs.
- Develop department, collection, and SKU-level sales plans, investment quantities, and flow forecasts.
- Reconcile top-down and bottom-up financial plans and collaborate with Merchandising on product strategies.
- Forecast sales and inventory, calculate receipt needs, and recommend buying strategies and inventory investments.
- Manage open-to-buy activities, the on-order pipeline, vendor flow requirements, and monthly action plans.
- Prioritize high-volume collections and SKUs to maximize in-stock performance, revenue, and customer commitments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or at least 5 years of equivalent relevant experience.
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative trends.
- Solid understanding of retail math and inventory planning concepts.
- Ability to build effective cross-functional relationships and strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Multi-channel planning experience across direct-to-consumer and brick-and-mortar businesses is a plus.
