Inventory Planner, Outdoor

Summary

The Inventory Planner manages current business and identifies future opportunities to achieve sales and margin goals. The role develops and manages assortment and inventory plans, financial plans, inventory investments, and open-to-buy activities across one or more departments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze historical performance and current trends to identify opportunities and risks by department, subclass, collection, and SKU.
• Develop sales, inventory, investment, and flow forecasts, and reconcile top-down and bottom-up financial plans.
• Forecast demand, manage open-to-buy activities and the on-order pipeline, and present buying strategies and action plans to senior leadership.
• Partner with Merchandising and vendors to support product strategies, negotiate flow requirements, and maximize in-stocks and revenue.
• Mentor and develop team members and support onboarding for new hires.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience, preferably in inventory management.
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Multi-channel planning experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills, with knowledge of retail math and inventory planning.
• Advanced Excel knowledge and ability to learn new systems quickly.
