Summary
The Inventory Planner supports financial and merchandising strategy by managing inventory levels, optimizing product availability, and aligning forecasts with inventory investments. This role partners with merchandising, finance, supply chain, and operations to drive inventory efficiency and support decision making.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain inventory plans that support sales margin and turn goals.
- Align inventory strategies with seasonal buys product launches and assortment planning.
- Monitor and analyze inventory performance to identify risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with supply chain and operations to ensure timely replenishment and optimal stock levels.
- Provide inventory forecasts scenario modeling and open to buy recommendations.
- Track and report key metrics including sell through weeks of supply and excess inventory.
- Participate in business reviews providing insights to support strategic decisions.
- Champion data integrity and SKU level accuracy across planning systems.
- Improve planning processes using technology automation and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in business finance supply chain or related field.
- 3 years minimum experience in inventory planning or merchandise strategy preferably in luxury retail.
- Proficiency in planning systems such as Toolio SAP or Oracle and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence cross functional partners.
- Understanding of luxury product cycles and assortment planning.
- Experience with forecasting scenario modeling and open to buy processes.
- A commitment to data accuracy and process improvement.
