Investigator

Summary

The Investigator protects company assets by preventing fraud and internal and external loss through observation, investigation, and collaboration with operations and sales teams. This role conducts audits, interviews, apprehends suspects when necessary, and supports compliance and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walk the sales floor to observe and identify dishonest persons
• Monitor and dispatch using the CCTV system
• Apprehend shoplifters and maintain records of apprehensions
• Testify at criminal proceedings as required
• Conduct periodic point of sale audits and internal investigations
• Analyze transactional reports and follow up on discrepancies
• Support inventory counts shortage programs and unsaleables management
• Respond to emergencies and provide follow up reporting
• Comply with health and safety policies

Requirements

• College degree
• 2-3 years experience in a similar capacity
• Training in kinesic interview techniques or other interrogation methods
• Previous retail experience
• Standard first aid CPR OPA Level II
• Provincial guard license
• Fully bilingual in French and English
