Investigator

Summary

The Investigator protects company assets from fraud and internal or external loss by observing store activity, monitoring CCTV, conducting audits and internal investigations, and responding to incidents while supporting operations and sales teams.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walk the sales floor to observe and identify dishonest persons
• Monitor and dispatch using the CCTV system
• Apprehend shoplifters and maintain records of apprehensions
• Testify at criminal proceedings as required
• Conduct periodic point of sale audits and analyze transactional reporting
• Conduct confidential internal investigations
• Support inventory counts, shortage programs, and management of unsaleables
• Respond to emergencies and provide timely follow up reporting
• Support audits to ensure compliance and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

• College degree
• 2-3 years experience in a similar capacity
• Experience in a retail environment
• Kinesic interview techniques or other interrogation training
• Standard first aid and CPR OPA Level II
• Maintain provincial guard license
• Fully bilingual in French and English
