Summary
The Jeweller performs repairs and alterations on new and client owned jewelry using standard jewelry techniques across precious metals and specialty materials. The role requires strong technical skill in soldering, laser welding, fabrication, finishing and stone setting while maintaining workshop safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and alterations on assigned orders according to company standards
- Complete craft work to quality and design specifications and inspect orders for defects
- Meet or exceed established productivity standards based on work mix and role
- Maintain organized orders, benches and work spaces and adhere to due dates
- Request and manage parts, consumables, tools and scrap according to procedures
- Provide assistance across the service center and perform alternate craft work as needed
- Participate in special projects and collaborate with coworkers and management
- Comply with health and safety requirements and maintain a safe workstation
- Report safety incidents and identify gaps in workshop infrastructure
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Proven soldering and laser welding experience
- Experience with stone setting, assembly, enameling and finishing techniques
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Customer service oriented with fluent English reading writing and verbal skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime and weekends
- Ability to work independently take initiative and collaborate in a team environment
- Basic computer knowledge preferred and formal jewelry training is an asset
