Jewelry Quality Assurance Inspector - Queens

Summary

The Quality Assurance Inspector performs detailed inspections of serviced and client-owned jewelry, watches and related merchandise to ensure repairs and servicing meet established standards. The role documents inspection findings, communicates results to technicians and operations staff, and supports training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on serviced and client-owned merchandise using established repair and COM standards.
• Record detailed inspection results and maintain department records and reports to capture trends.
• Provide clear inspection feedback to technicians to ensure servicing meets standards and guidelines.
• Manage workflow of orders through the department and prioritize client due dates and inspection needs.
• Work with teammates and management to identify issues, propose solutions and improve overall servicing quality.
• Participate in training of new team members on inspection standards and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of jewelry experience.
• Completion of Graduate Gemology degree or completion of GIA courses.
• Previous quality assurance and microscope inspection experience; ability to use a microscope for extended periods.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Flexible schedule with ability to work overtime and possible weekends.
• Customer service orientation, meticulous attention to detail and strong English verbal and written communication skills.
