Jewelry Quality Assurance Inspector - Queens

Summary

The Jewelry Quality Assurance Inspector performs detailed inspections of serviced and client owned merchandise, including jewelry, silver goods, holloware, watches, clocks, leather goods, engraving and sunglasses. The inspector documents and communicates inspection results to the Repair Services team and Operations to ensure servicing meets established standards and client expectations. The role supports continuous quality improvements and participates in training new team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on serviced new and client owned merchandise using established repair and COM standards.
• Record detailed inspection findings and maintain department records and reports to capture results and trends.
• Provide clear inspection feedback to technicians to ensure repairs meet standards and TCO guidelines.
• Manage workflow of orders through the department, prioritizing client due dates and inspection needs.
• Partner with technicians and management to identify and implement methods to improve servicing quality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of jewelry experience.
• Completion of Graduate Gemology degree or completion of GIA courses.
• Previous quality assurance and microscope experience with ability to use a microscope for extended periods.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and strong English verbal and written communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and flexibility to work overtime and possible weekends.
