Leader, Merchandising

Summary

The Merchandise Leader manages one or more departments and leads product assortment strategy across catalog, retail, and web. This role drives sales and margin objectives while ensuring products meet customer needs and brand goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop product assortment strategies to achieve sales and margin forecasts.
• Manage product calendars and ensure critical dates are met.
• Apply consumer and competitive insights to business decisions.
• Lead cross-functional business meetings and financial reviews, identifying actions to maximize sales and margin.
• Present recommendations to senior management and contribute to product development meetings.
• Communicate with vendors on product, pricing, and timely receipts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or equivalent combined education and retail experience.
• At least 5 years of direct merchandising experience at a retailer or marketer.
• Strong strategy, leadership, financial acumen, planning, and organizational skills.
• Proven success leading strategic business planning.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to drive innovation and collaboration and develop category product strategies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
