Summary
Protect company assets and maintain a safe environment for clients and associates through proactive loss prevention, surveillance, investigations, and support of store operations. Perform routine store opening and closing, CCTV monitoring, investigations, apprehensions when necessary, and emergency response with clear documentation.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the store following company procedures
- Perform operational and inventory control audits and follow up to ensure compliance
- Support operations and sales teams with inventory counts and shortage programs
- Conduct routine floor walks and CCTV monitoring to detect and deter loss
- Conduct internal and external investigations and maintain precise investigation notes
- Apprehend shoplifters and preserve elements of proof
- Testify at criminal proceedings as required
- Respond to emergencies providing first aid and security procedures and document incidents
- Act as an advocate for health and safety and participate in related meetings
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in loss prevention or safety and security in a retail environment
- Valid provincial security license required upon hire and to be maintained
- Valid standard first aid, CPR, and AED certification required upon hire and to be maintained
- Strong investigative, interview, and documentation skills with clear field notes
- Problem solving and de-escalation skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Comfortable interacting with customers while enforcing security procedures
