Summary
Responsible for protecting company assets and maintaining a safe environment for clients and associates through loss prevention activities, investigations, CCTV monitoring, and support of inventory control and safety procedures. This part time role requires confidentiality, strong reporting, and customer service in a luxury retail setting.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the store following company procedures
- Perform operational and inventory control audits and follow up for compliance
- Support operations and sales teams with inventory counts and shortage programs
- Conduct routine floor walks and inspections
- Monitor CCTV systems and dispatch as needed
- Conduct internal and external investigations and maintain investigation documentation
- Apprehend shoplifters and preserve elements of proof
- Testify at criminal proceedings when appropriate
- Respond to emergencies providing first aid and security procedures with detailed reporting
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in loss prevention or safety and security in a retail environment
- Valid provincial security license required upon hire and to be maintained in good standing
- Valid standard first aid, CPR, and AED certificate(s) required upon hire and to be maintained
- Strong investigative, interview, problem solving, and de-escalation skills
- Ability to maintain clear field notes, daily communication logs, and precise investigation reports
- Understanding of customer service expectations in a luxury retail environment
- Knowledge of privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures
