Luxury Womenswear Designer (Bridal)

Overview

We are a New York City–based luxury bridal and bespoke womenswear atelier founded in 2010, celebrated for feminine silhouettes, intricate detailing, and extraordinary fabrics. Specializing in made-to-order gowns and bespoke pieces, our collections reflect an elevated, avant-garde aesthetic. The Luxury Womenswear Designer (Bridal) will join a tight-knit design team composed of a design director, a design manager/atelier manager, and an assistant designer. In this role, you will lead silhouette and embellishment development, collaborate on surface treatments and sketching, and oversee the execution of each piece from concept through production. This position offers the opportunity to work predominantly in our SoHo studio with occasional remote creative sketching periods and Summer Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the design director and manager to develop seasonal collections and special projects from concept to completion
• Generate and present inspirations, research, sketches, and surface treatment ideas
• Lead print, embroidery, and embellishment development and attend all fittings
• Support hands-on sample making and coordinate with in-house ateliers and external vendors
• Source unconventional fabrics and materials locally and liaise with factories as needed
• Ensure each collection meets high-end construction and quality standards
• Maintain studio protocols for a safe, organized, and digital workspace
• Assist with photoshoot preparation and on-site design support

Requirements

• BFA or AAS degree in Fashion Design
• 6–7 years of design experience with a luxury, elevated or avant-garde womenswear brand
• Expertise in high-end garment construction, especially bridal gowns
• Strong fabrication knowledge and silhouette design skills
• Detail-oriented perfectionist mentality with expertise in embellishment design
• Excellent freehand sketching abilities and proficiency in Photoshop & Illustrator (MAC); InDesign and Adobe Fresco a plus
• Experience researching trends and working with unconventional fabrics
• Self-motivated team player who puts ego aside and thrives in a smaller, fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work predominantly on-site in SoHo with occasional remote creative days
