Maintenance Mechanic B

Summary

Provide timely response to facilities requests including set up and take down of audiovisual and furniture for meetings, upkeep and maintenance of building and grounds, and assist with repairs and preventive maintenance of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, material handling, and general facility equipment. Utilize power tools, testing equipment, and the Building Management System while maintaining safe work practices and reporting as required. Maintain parts inventory, complete work tickets, and support continuous improvement and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and complete Facilities Service requests and set up conference and meeting rooms.
• Perform upkeep, cleaning and maintenance of building, grounds and facility equipment.
• Assist with installation, repair and preventive maintenance of HVAC, electrical, mechanical and material handling equipment.
• Use power tools and electronic testing equipment to troubleshoot and repair systems including PLCs.
• Maintain parts inventory, order materials and report work ticket status and parts usage.
• Operate Building Management System to respond to hot and cold requests and implement corrective actions.
• Test and inspect emergency and life safety systems and log readings to meet applicable standards.
• Work flexible hours including weekends, nights, overtime and respond to building emergencies 24/7.
• Maintain safe work practices and use proper personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma with technical or vocational training in related fields.
• 1 to 3 years of related experience.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally and work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of PLCs and ability to use electronic testing equipment, hand and power tools.
• Valid driver license and flexibility for varied schedules and overtime.
• Ability to work weekends, nights and respond to emergencies as required.
• Preferred: ability to read blueprints, use lifts and forklifts, and knowledge of AutoCAD.
