Maintenance Tech 1 - Burlington

Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician I performs preventive maintenance and basic repairs to buildings, systems, equipment, and grounds while supporting multiple store locations. Working under close supervision, this entry level role assists with inspections, troubleshooting, and maintaining lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and general building systems to ensure a safe and well maintained environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned day to day preventive maintenance and respond to on demand requests from sales floor
• Complete maintenance records accurately and timely
• Conduct daily inspections and building rounds
• Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs of plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop systems, and HVAC
• Maintain lighting systems including fixtures and bulb replacement
• Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
• Follow manuals, circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to support troubleshooting
• Observe and adhere to safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, working at heights, and machine guarding
• Respond to emergency situations and escalate when additional assistance is needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year related experience or training
• Basic working knowledge in trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling
• Entry level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form across organizational levels
• Flexible schedule with availability for days, evenings, weekends, and off hours support
• Proficiency using PC or laptop for work order systems, email, and basic Microsoft Office
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
• Detail oriented with strong accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders, and lift or carry 50 lbs or more
