Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I performs preventive maintenance and basic repairs to building systems, equipment, and grounds under close supervision. This role assists with inspections, troubleshooting, and maintaining lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and general facility systems while following safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day preventive maintenance and respond to on-demand requests from the sales floor
- Complete maintenance records accurately and timely
- Conduct daily inspections and building rounds
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs of plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop systems, and HVAC
- Maintain lighting systems and replace bulbs and fixtures as needed
- Use electrical schematics and blueprints to aid troubleshooting
- Perform manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
- Follow safety protocols including lockout tagout, PPE, ergonomics, and working at heights
- Comply with applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of one year of related experience or training
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions and procedures
- Effective written and verbal communication skills across organizational levels
- Flexible schedule with availability for days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours support
- Detail-oriented with ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities
- Entry level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn
- General understanding of mechanical component systems and processes
- Basic computer skills for work order systems, email, and Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to perform physical tasks including stooping, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs
