Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I assists in maintaining a safe well maintained store environment by performing preventive maintenance and basic repairs on building systems and equipment. Working under close supervision, the role supports multiple store locations and follows guidance from the Facilities Manager and lead technicians.
Responsibilities
- Perform day to day preventive maintenance and respond to on demand requests from the sales floor
- Complete maintenance records accurately and in a timely manner
- Conduct daily inspections and building rounds
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs for plumbing kitchen equipment roofs drains shop and HVAC
- Maintain lighting systems including fixtures and bulb replacement
- Use electrical schematics and blueprints to assist in troubleshooting
- Perform manual labor tasks including loading unloading lifting and moving materials
- Follow safety procedures including LOTO PPE ergonomics working at heights and machine guarding
- Escalate emergencies and summon additional assistance as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of related experience or training
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions and procedures
- Effective written and verbal communication skills across organizational levels
- Flexible schedule availability including days evenings weekends and off hours
- Entry level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn
- General understanding of mechanical component systems and processes
- Proficiency using PC or laptop for work order systems email and basic Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to prioritize tasks adapt to changing priorities and maintain attention to detail
- Physical ability to stoop stand walk climb and lift carry loads of 50 lbs or more
