Summary
Provides preventive maintenance and assists with repairs for buildings, systems, equipment, and grounds to maintain a safe store environment. Works under close supervision supporting multiple store locations within a business node and performs inspections, basic troubleshooting, and general maintenance tasks across several trades.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day preventive maintenance and respond to on-demand maintenance requests from the sales floor.
- Complete maintenance records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conduct daily inspections and building rounds.
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs for plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop systems, and HVAC.
- Maintain lighting systems including fixtures and lamp replacement.
- Follow electrical schematics and blueprints to assist in troubleshooting.
- Perform manual labor such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
- Adhere to safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights, and machine guarding.
- Escalate emergencies and summon additional assistance as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of one year of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions and procedures.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills across organizational levels.
- Flexible schedule availability including days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours support.
- Entry level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn additional tools.
- General understanding of mechanical component systems and processes.
- Proficiency using a PC or laptop for work order systems, email, and basic Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain attention to detail.
- Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders, and lift or carry loads of 50 lbs or more.
