SummaryThe Maintenance Technician II will lead a team to ensure a safe and well-maintained store environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. This role supports the Facility Manager to ensure stores are ready for business daily, handling HVAC, vertical transportation, restaurants, entries, signs, and building systems. The position supports multiple Nordstrom Stores and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business node.
Responsibilities- Lead and perform preventive maintenance on all critical and non-critical equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to store operations.
- Operate and monitor building controls and associated equipment.
- Lead equipment and building rounds, identifying and reporting malfunctions.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and moving materials.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as parts ordering and vendor management.
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Act as the face of the facilities business in place of the FM at meetings.
- Complete preventative maintenance routines and mentor other technicians.
- Assist FM with technical training of new employees.
- Respond to location emergencies.
- Update the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Communicate and coordinate work with outside contractors and vendors.
Requirements- High School Diploma/GED; Associates or higher degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of hands-on facilities experience with mechanical maintenance.
- Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical skills.
- Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.
- Able to work without supervision and meet multiple deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong dedication to supporting facility in a safe, customer-focused manner.
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Knowledge of computer networking systems and infrastructure.
- Experience with electromechanical operation and maintenance.
- Project Management experience is a plus.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours.
- Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
