Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I performs preventive maintenance and basic repairs to building systems, equipment, and grounds under close supervision. This entry level role supports multiple store locations and assists with inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance records while following safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day preventive maintenance and respond to on-demand requests from sales floor
- Complete maintenance records accurately and timely
- Conduct daily inspections and building rounds
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs of plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, and HVAC
- Maintain lighting systems and replace fixtures, bulbs, and lamps
- Use electrical schematics and blueprints to assist in troubleshooting
- Perform manual labor tasks including loading unloading lifting and moving materials
- Adhere to safety procedures including LOTO PPE ergonomics working at heights and machine guarding
- Escalate emergency situations and summon additional assistance as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and minimum of one year related experience or training
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions and work under supervision
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and off-hours support
- Entry level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn
- General understanding of mechanical component systems and processes
- Proficiency using PC or laptop for work order system email and basic Microsoft Office
- Ability to lift and carry loads of 50 lbs or more and perform physical tasks such as stooping standing walking and climbing
