Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I performs preventive maintenance and basic repairs to buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds to help maintain a safe store environment. Working under close supervision, the role supports multiple stores within a business node and assists with monitoring building system operations and performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day preventive maintenance and respond to on-demand requests from sales floor
- Complete maintenance records accurately and timely
- Conduct daily inspections and building rounds
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs for plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop systems, and HVAC
- Maintain lighting systems, fixtures, and replace bulbs and lamps
- Use manuals, circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to troubleshoot problems
- Perform manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
- Follow safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights, and machine guarding
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of related experience or training
- Basic working knowledge in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and customer service orientation
- Flexible schedule with availability for days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours support
- Proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn
- Basic PC skills for work order systems, email, and Microsoft Office
- Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and lift/carry 50 lbs or more
