Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I performs preventive maintenance and assists with repairs of building systems, equipment, and grounds to help maintain a safe store environment. Working under close supervision, this entry level role supports multiple store locations and learns basic trade skills including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and HVAC while completing maintenance records and inspections.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day preventive maintenance and respond to on-demand requests from the sales floor
- Complete maintenance records accurately and in a timely manner
- Conduct daily inspections and building rounds
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs of plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop systems, and HVAC
- Maintain lighting systems, fixtures, and replace bulbs and lamps
- Use electrical schematics and blueprints to observe troubleshooting and corrections
- Perform manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
- Follow safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights, and machine guarding
- Escalate emergencies and provide excellent customer service
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year of related experience andor training
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions and work under supervision
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and off hours as required
- Entry level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn
- Basic understanding of mechanical component systems and processes
- Proficiency using PC or laptop for work order systems email and basic Microsoft Office
- Able to stoop stand walk climb ladders and lift carry loads of 50 lbs or more
