Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I helps maintain a safe and well-maintained store environment by performing preventive maintenance and assisting with building system operations. This role supports multiple Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business node under close supervision.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, daily inspections, building rounds, and assigned on-demand repairs.
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs to plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop equipment, HVAC, and lighting systems.
- Maintain accurate and timely maintenance records and respond promptly to customer requests and emergencies.
- Follow safety procedures, applicable codes, regulations, and company directives.
- Load, unload, lift, and move materials as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience or training.
- Basic working knowledge of trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, or cooling.
- Entry-level proficiency with power tools and general understanding of mechanical component systems.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic PC, email, work order system, and Microsoft Office skills.
- Flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours support; able to lift 50 pounds or more with or without reasonable accommodation.
