Maintenance Technician 1 - Towson Town Center

Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician I helps maintain a safe and well-maintained environment across multiple Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations. Working under close supervision, this entry-level role performs preventive maintenance and assists with monitoring and repairing building systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, respond to maintenance requests, complete records, and conduct daily inspections and building rounds.
• Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs to plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, lighting, and HVAC systems.
• Use tools and technical references to help diagnose and correct building-system issues.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, provide customer service, and escalate issues when needed.
• Follow safety practices, applicable codes, and company procedures while performing maintenance and manual labor tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience or training.
• Basic proficiency with power tools and a general understanding of mechanical systems; willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Basic computer skills, including use of work order systems, email, and Microsoft Office.
• Flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours support; ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physical tasks such as climbing, walking, and standing.
