Summary
The Maintenance Technician II leads and mentors a facilities team to maintain a safe well maintained store environment across multiple Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations in a business node. This role supports the Facility Manager by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting building systems, coordinating vendors, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure stores are ready for business daily.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform on demand and scheduled preventive maintenance on critical and non critical equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues related to store operations including HVAC and refrigeration
- Operate and monitor building controls and EMCS systems and respond to alarms
- Conduct equipment and building rounds including readings and documenting malfunctions
- Perform manual labor tasks such as loading unloading lifting and moving materials
- Assist with parts ordering PO creation vendor management and project meeting attendance
- Update the computerized maintenance management system with maintenance procedures and equipment records
- Communicate and coordinate work with outside contractors vendors and property managers
- Promote and follow safety procedures including LOTO PPE and working at heights
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; vocational or college training preferred
- 5 years of hands on facilities experience with emphasis in mechanical maintenance
- 5+ years conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures
- 5+ years working with HVAC refrigeration carpentry plumbing electrical and mechanical repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot low voltage signal tracing and logical devices
- Ability to work independently meet multiple deadlines and communicate effectively
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and experience with CMMS and ordering systems such as Coupa
- Knowledge of computer networking systems and electromechanical operation and maintenance
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and off hours
