Job Description

Summary

The Maintenance Technician II leads and performs preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure a safe, fully operational store environment across multiple Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business node. This role supports the Facility Manager by troubleshooting building systems, coordinating vendors, and mentoring other technicians while maintaining documentation in the CMMS. The Technician II executes planned maintenance, responds to on-demand break-fix requests, and helps represent facilities in store and project meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other building systems.
  • Troubleshoot EMCS/building controls, electrical and mechanical issues; conduct equipment rounds and log readings.
  • Respond to on-demand work orders, delegate tasks to technicians, and update the CMMS with accurate records.
  • Coordinate with vendors, landlords, and store leadership; assist with parts ordering, PO creation, and project meetings.
  • Promote and follow safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, and working at heights; perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving materials.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; vocational or associate degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on facilities and mechanical maintenance experience, including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance procedures and CMMS (Coupa experience a plus).
  • Ability to troubleshoot low-voltage controls and building automation systems; intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work without supervision, flexible schedule including evenings/weekends, and ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
