Summary
The Maintenance Technician II leads and mentors a facilities team to maintain a safe, operational store environment across multiple Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations. This role supports the Facility Manager in daily readiness, troubleshooting HVAC and building systems, coordinating vendors, and completing preventative maintenance and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform on-demand and scheduled preventive maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues related to store operations
- Operate and monitor building controls and EMCS, responding to alarms and verifying operations
- Lead equipment rounds, identify and report system malfunctions, and mentor other technicians
- Perform manual labor tasks including lifting and moving materials
- Assist with parts ordering, PO creation, vendor management, and meeting attendance
- Update CMMS to maintain maintenance procedures and equipment records
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and property managers for facility work
- Promote and follow safety procedures including LOTO and PPE use
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; vocational or associate degree preferred
- 5 years of hands-on facilities experience with emphasis in mechanical maintenance
- 5+ years conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures
- 5+ years experience with HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot low voltage signals and logical devices
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and experience with CMMS and ordering systems
- Knowledge of computer networking systems and electromechanical maintenance
- Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and off-hours
- Capable of physical tasks including climbing and lifting 50 lbs or more
