Summary
The Maintenance Technician II leads and mentors a facilities team to maintain a safe, operational store environment across multiple locations within a business node. This role supports the Facility Manager by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and vertical transportation, and by coordinating with vendors and store leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform on-demand and scheduled preventive maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues for store operations
- Operate and monitor building controls and EMCS, respond to alarms and verify proper system operation
- Conduct equipment and building rounds, readings, and document findings
- Assign and delegate workorders and mentor other technicians on maintenance tasks
- Assist with parts ordering, PO creation, vendor coordination, and administrative tasks
- Respond to location emergencies and support store meetings and project meetings in place of the FM
- Maintain CMMS records and parts inventory accuracy
- Promote and follow safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, and working at heights
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; vocational or associate degree preferred
- 5-7 years hands-on facilities experience with emphasis in mechanical maintenance
- 5+ years conducting predictive and preventive maintenance
- 5+ years experience with HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs
- Experience troubleshooting low voltage and logical devices
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with CMMS and ordering systems
- Knowledge of computer networking systems and electromechanical maintenance experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours and perform physical tasks lifting 50 lbs or more
