The role includes mentoring junior technicians and managing multiple Nordstrom locations within a business node.
Responsibilities- Ensure HVAC, vertical transportation, restaurants, entries and signs, and building systems are fully operational.
- Respond to daily break-fix and on-demand requests, and delegate work orders to junior technicians.
- Communicate with store leadership and support vendor relations.
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to store operations.
- Lead and perform preventive maintenance on all critical and non-critical equipment.
- Operate and monitor building controls and associated equipment.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as parts ordering and vendor management.
- Act as the face of the facilities business in place of the FM by attending meetings and documenting outcomes.
- Assist FM with technical training of new employees.
- Coordinate and assist in work with outside contractors and vendors.
Requirements- High School Diploma/GED required; Associates or higher degree preferred.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours.
- Ability to travel to multiple locations.
- 5+ years of experience in facilities with an emphasis on mechanical skills.
- Experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Proficient in reading and using electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.
- Ability to work independently and meet multiple deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong dedication to supporting facilities in a safe, customer-focused manner.
- Ability to use technology such as smart phones, tablets, and computers.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as stooping, standing, walking, and lifting heavy loads up to 49 lbs.
