Summary

Manage the alterations and tailor shop within a department store, leading the team to deliver high quality alterations and outstanding customer service while controlling labor and office expenses and ensuring work is completed by promised dates.

Responsibilities

• Coach develop and teach employees to provide excellent customer service
• Recruit hire and onboard qualified alterations and tailoring staff
• Ensure alterations and tailoring meet company guidelines service and quality standards
• Organize department workload and ensure items are completed by date promised
• Educate employees on proper fit shop procedures and guidelines
• Manage office and labor expenses and monitor department performance
• Maintain safe and proper use of shop equipment

Requirements

• Previous experience in alterations and tailoring
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with co workers and customers
• High level of ownership accountability and initiative
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store needs
• Understanding of safe and proper use of alterations equipment
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
