Job Description

Summary

The Alterations Manager provides leadership and support to the Alterations team to deliver exceptional customer service and meet operational and financial goals. Reporting to the Director of Operations or Store Director, this role builds processes, drives performance, and fosters teamwork between alterations and the selling organization in a luxury retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Alterations Associates through hiring, training, and performance feedback
  • Create and maintain structural processes for the alterations department
  • Drive department objectives and measure progress against targets
  • Ensure high levels of customer service and quality in alterations work
  • Collaborate with the selling organization to support store initiatives
  • Manage scheduling to meet business needs including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Monitor productivity quality and adherence to alterations policies and procedures
  • Support ad hoc operational responsibilities as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of management experience with comparable volume or demonstrated operations leadership
  • Fitting and tailoring experience in a high end or luxury merchandise setting preferred
  • Ability to perform alterations on a wide range of garments
  • Knowledge of alterations industry including fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise
  • Proficiency with technology including Word and Excel
  • Ability to create a professional work environment and effective teamwork
  • Flexible availability for evenings weekends and holidays
  • Four year degree preferred
