Job Description

Summary

Manage the alterations and tailor shop to deliver high-quality workmanship and outstanding customer service. Lead and develop a team of technicians, oversee shop operations and workflow, and ensure alterations are completed by the promised date. Responsible for coaching staff on fit, procedures, and safe equipment use while managing labor and office expenses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach, coach, and develop employees to provide excellent customer service and technical performance
  • Identify, recruit, and hire qualified alterations and tailoring talent
  • Coach employees to complete alterations and tailoring according to guidelines and quality standards
  • Organize department workload and ensure items are completed by the promised date
  • Educate employees on proper fit, shop procedures, and safe equipment use
  • Manage office tasks and control labor expenses

Requirements

  • Previous experience in alterations and tailoring
  • Understanding of safe and proper use of shop equipment
  • Clear and professional communication with coworkers and customers
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store needs
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
