Job Description

Summary

As an Internal Communications Manager, you will play a crucial role in engaging, educating, and inspiring Nordstrom’s network of over 55,000 employees. This role focuses on supporting enterprise employee communications by partnering closely with the human resources, benefits, compensation, and social impact teams to deliver thoughtful, creative, and comprehensive communication programs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging communications programs in support of Nordstrom’s business rhythms, key priorities, change management initiatives, and employee programs and events.
  • Craft compelling content that drives employee connection to Nordstrom’s purpose, strategic vision, and ways of working, fostering a sense of belonging and engagement.
  • Provide expert advice and counsel to senior leaders and subject matter experts on communication best practices and approaches.
  • Utilize a strong understanding of organizational communication needs, including structure and audience profiles, to determine the appropriate channel, medium, and distribution approach for communication.
  • Create and edit engaging content for a variety of communication channels, including email, intranet, video, live events, and other digital platforms.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in communications.
  • A proactive and strategic mindset, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • The ability to manage complex projects with multiple partners and deadlines, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
  • A solid understanding of Nordstrom's voice and culture.
  • A passion for fostering employee engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience with various communication channels (e.g., intranet, email, video, employee events).
  • Knowledge of internal communication best practices.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
