Job Description

Summary

As a Manager of Product Development at Nordstrom, you will lead a talented team within the Nordstrom Product Group, driving the creation and development of Nordstrom label products. This hybrid role requires a strong leader to manage the product development cycle, ensuring quality and innovation in fashion design.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor teams through the product development cycle, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Balance workload across categories and remove barriers for team success.
  • Attract, retain, and develop talent through continuous mentoring and shared values.
  • Establish strong relationships with cross-functional teams, focusing on customer-centric decisions.
  • Identify and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Guide the team in executing sourcing strategies and resolving post-production quality issues.
  • Track product development milestones and manage pre-production reporting.
  • Support vendor negotiations throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to align development and production capabilities with company goals.
  • Achieve costing targets and standards for brand classifications.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in product development within garment manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Textile, Fashion Merchandising, Design, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing and developing large, diverse teams.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiating skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Illustrator, Word, Tableau, and Flex PLM.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the U.S., Asia, South America, and Europe.
