Summary
Lead the development and execution of packaging programs for a private label product group, managing the Project Management team and partnering with cross functional stakeholders to align packaging strategy with brand standards, merchandising plans, and financial goals. The role directs procurement and vendor negotiations for packaging materials, oversees inventory programs, and drives innovation and sustainability initiatives while operating in a hybrid headquarters environment.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end packaging strategy development and program execution across categories
- Develop and manage a multi year packaging roadmap and allocate work across team and vendors
- Manage the Project Management team and guide designers to meet timelines budgets and deliverables
- Partner with merchandising product development design and creative teams to forecast needs and align production timelines
- Negotiate pricing secure supplier terms and ensure quality cost effective solutions
- Lead packaging photo shoots and visual asset creation
- Manage inventory levels balancing MOQ compliance and minimizing excess
- Champion process improvements material innovations and sustainability practices
- Deliver performance reports and foster talent development within the team
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years experience in project management or product development
- Experience managing creative projects retail packaging print production or label development
- Proven ability to develop and articulate brand story to customers
- PMP certification preferred
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite FlexPLM or equivalent and MS Office with strong Excel skills
- Experience negotiating with domestic and international suppliers
- Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and cross functional collaboration
