Manager Technical Design

As the Manager of Technical Design at Nordstrom, you will lead a team of technical designers to ensure the fit integrity of Nordstrom's private brands. This hybrid role requires working from the Seattle office at least four days a week, focusing on fit consistency and construction for either Women's, Men's, or Kids' divisions.

• Manage the development and maintenance of consistent size and fit standards, grade rules, and tolerances.
• Partner with resources to develop and maintain complete spec packs, blocks, and patterns.
• Develop and manage calendars to ensure timely product delivery.
• Collaborate with factories to train and ensure brand standards are met in production.
• Ensure final fit of products meets brand requirements.
• Research and resolve issues, taking corrective actions to prevent future issues.
• Hire and supervise a team that accurately interprets designs and meets functional needs.
• Coach team through performance feedback, goal-setting, and development plans.

• 7+ years of Apparel Technical Design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 2+ years in a leadership role with strong business acumen.
• Advanced knowledge of fit, grade rules, block creation, and pattern making.
• Proficiency in 3D design software, PLM, Excel, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Gerber.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
