Job Description

Summary

The Material Planner will be responsible for executing the MRP production plan as determined by the Supply Chain Organization, managing excess and obsolete inventory, and validating purchased-item parameters for Internal Manufacturing. This role involves working with raw-material suppliers to resolve conflicts and leading efforts with supplier qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Work safely by following safe work procedures and reporting incidents and safety issues.
  • Participate in lean activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review MRP messages, purchase raw materials, and ensure material availability for timely work order execution.
  • Ensure data integrity of product information and validate purchased-item parameters.
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve material availability issues and manage vendor relationships.
  • Maintain inventory levels and manage slow-moving inventory reports quarterly.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain or equivalent experience.
  • 3 – 5 years experience in Planning/Procurement.
  • MRP/ERP system experience in a Supply Chain Manufacturing organization.
  • Strong background in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • APICS Certification or currently pursuing (preferred).
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and JDA business systems (preferred).
  • Inventory Management Skills.
