Job Description

Summary

The Merchandise Manager oversees back of house operations and front of house visual standards, ensuring inbound and outbound merchandise processing, inventory accuracy, and attractive merchandising to support full price sales and store profitability. This leader hires trains and develops the merchandise operations team and partners with store management to prioritize the customer experience while maintaining compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee processing of inbound merchandise to ensure receipts reach the selling floor on time
  • Manage outbound transfers returns to vendors and related merchandise processing
  • Ensure execution of markdowns price changes re ticketing sends repairs and sell off consolidation
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through oversight of exception reports
  • Enforce compliance with store audit standards and address flow challenges
  • Hire train develop and manage the Merchandise Operations team
  • Set goals and coach associates to drive performance and accountability
  • Coordinate ordering of supplies and management of back of house equipment
  • Perform ad hoc operational responsibilities as needed

Requirements

  • 3-5 years supervisory retail experience in visual or merchandising roles
  • Proven leadership with ability to recruit train and develop teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other retail technologies
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds and maneuver rolling equipment and ladders
  • Strong problem solving communication and coaching skills
  • Experience driving results in a fast paced retail environment
