Summary
The New Product Engineer is responsible for establishing robust and repeatable manufacturing specifications for new designs throughout their development lifecycle and supporting manufacturing during initial launch phases. This role partners with NPI Project Leads and cross-functional teams to provide routing recommendations, manufacturing offsets, and verification of process calculations to ensure prototypes and production runs meet critical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support the New Product Integration development process for new product and dual-sourcing projects
- Lead engineering phases during development and support manufacturing for the first six months post-launch
- Create product-specific work instructions in collaboration with manufacturing and process engineering teams
- Maintain overall engineering plans and update manufacturing plans from kickoff through development
- Provide initial route recommendations and manufacturing offsets and verify process calculations
- Facilitate cross-department collaboration among CAD CAM, Quality, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Finance, and other stakeholders
- Collect compile and maintain project data for reports presentations and future reference
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or five years of related experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong verbal written and presentation communication skills
- Proficiency or comfort with CAD software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word Excel Project and OneNote
- Knowledge of modern jewelry manufacturing techniques preferred
- Understanding of basic statistical tools with Minitab preferable
- Six Sigma or Project Management Professional certification preferred
