Summary
The Operations Associate oversees movement and control of pre-sale merchandise entering and exiting the store, ensures shipping and receiving policies are followed, and supports store operations including inventory, deliveries, and fixture maintenance. This role works closely with sales and management to maintain organization and operational standards in a luxury retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Direct movement of incoming and outgoing pre-sale merchandise
- Maintain inventory in an efficient, clean, secure, and organized fashion
- Support sales staff by retrieving stock not on the sales floor
- Manage inter-store transfers, stock rotations, and shipments
- Participate in inventories and cycle counts and assist with reconciliation
- Ensure merchandise is ticketed and paperwork for damages and returns is completed
- Assist with packing and delivery processes and document client deliveries
- Support visual merchandising and store operations including fixture and facility maintenance
- Assist other departments and the sales floor as requested by management
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of retail experience focused on stock or inventory
- Experience in a luxury retail setting preferred
- Business school, university degree, or equivalent experience
- Computer literate with ability to learn various software packages
- Strong customer service orientation and social perceptiveness
- Action oriented and result driven with problem solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Foreign languages a plus
