Ten-week paid corporate internship providing hands-on experience in retail operations and distribution. The role focuses on time and motion analysis, productivity reporting, and supporting warehousing and fulfillment activities while developing presentation and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Plan organize and lead implementation and maintenance of engineered time standards for fulfillment and distribution activities
- Partner with operations management to identify needs and develop solutions using data collection analysis and reporting
- Work with operations and process teams to identify and document best practices in facility operations
- Develop and interpret productivity reporting tools for fulfillment and distribution centers
- Conduct time studies and develop time standards
- Generate methods and ideas for process improvement and support implementation
- Communicate regularly via meetings feedback and written communications about performance and procedures
- Lead projects as requested
Requirements
- Junior class rank or above pursuing a degree in industrial engineering or a quantitative major
- Experience with time and motion analysis tools and time standard development
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including Excel Access PowerPoint and Word
- Willingness to spend time on the warehouse floor and work with employees
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities meet deadlines and deliver results with attention to detail
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project or AS/400 systems is a plus
- Available for the entire duration of the 10-week internship
