Summary
The Operations Manager will oversee all operational functions of the boutique including inventory control, housekeeping, maintenance and selling support to ensure efficient back of house operations and adherence to P&L budget. This role partners with the Managing Director and retail management team to implement policies, create processes, manage vendors and support the client experience in a luxury retail environment. The position includes supervisory responsibility for inventory control, after sales and support staff and acts in leadership capacity when senior managers are absent.
Responsibilities
- Manage shipping and receiving including transfers, returns to vendor, damages and stock reconciliations
- Oversee inventory control, perform inventories and cycle counts and execute stock adjustments
- Supervise operational staff including inventory control associates, SSAs and after sales personnel
- Maintain back of house organization and ensure timely movement of merchandise
- Manage vendor relationships for maintenance, construction, guards and other services
- Ensure functionality of IT and phone systems by coordinating with corporate contacts
- Oversee cash handling procedures and document reporting to the Managing Director
- Coordinate operational supply orders, staff sales and scheduling including E-time and time and attendance
- Prepare and conduct evacuation drills and emergency response training
Requirements
- 5+ years of retail management experience, preferably in a luxury environment
- Proven shipping and receiving experience and inventory control knowledge
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with POS and phone systems and building maintenance
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure with attention to accuracy
- Supervisory experience managing operational teams and vendor relationships
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs without assistance
- Familiarity with international parent company structures preferred
