Job Description

Summary

The Planner partners with the buying team to deliver merchandise plans, forecasts and analysis that drive sales, margin and inventory productivity. This role manages multi-dimensional plans across hierarchies, oversees in-season performance and recommends markdown and inventory actions. The Planner presents findings to cross-functional stakeholders and supports process and systems development.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and own merchandise plans aligned to corporate strategy to maximize full price sales and profit
  • Build strong partnerships with merchants and buyers to inform planning and assortment decisions
  • Maintain plans and forecasts across sales, markdown, margin, receipts and inventory hierarchies
  • Manage in-season performance through reforecasting and recommend inventory alignment actions
  • Analyze end of season and in-season results to optimize buying, markdowns and promotional activity
  • Manage markdown proposals and recommend price reductions to balance margin and sell-through
  • Work with Assistant Planners and Allocation Analysts to manage inventory across the network
  • Prepare presentation data and present findings to cross-functional audiences

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of merchandise planning experience
  • Excellent financial acumen and strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated influencing and interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP and merchandise planning systems
  • Adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and passionate about luxury retailing
