Summary
Reporting to the Director of Planning, the Planning Analyst will support merchandise and financial planning initiatives within the Buying team. This hybrid role based in downtown Toronto involves inventory allocation, forecasting, reporting, and working closely with Buyers and Operations to optimize assortment and financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Establish seasonal merchandise and financial plans
- Create financial target breakdowns by department and provide guidelines
- Generate and deliver reports for the buying season
- Provide assortment analysis and insights in collaboration with Buyers
- Create initial allocations and manage ongoing allocation adjustments
- Manage inventory to maximize gross margin return on inventory
- Schedule deliveries, monitor open to buy, rebalance merchandise, and recall goods
- Conduct monthly inventory rebalance and consolidation and manage vendor deliveries
- Review online performance and outlet transfers to align sales and inventory
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in fashion merchandising or a financial discipline
- 2 years of experience in buying operations planning or allocation
- Solid understanding of inventory allocation and forecasting
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and act as a self starter
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and Outlook
- Experience working in cross functional and agile environments
- Retail experience is an asset
