Job Description

Summary

As a Product Developer at Nordstrom, you will play a crucial role in driving the development of Nordstrom-owned private label products. This hybrid role requires you to work in the Seattle office at least three days a week, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to create compelling seasonal assortments that meet cost and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Develop products engineered to cost standards and review prototypes for quality and design intent.
  • Meet product development milestones and manage pre-production tracking and reporting.
  • Negotiate with vendors on costing, timelines, and minimums throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Create, revise, and manage tech packs and prototypes through timely PLM system updates.
  • Place developed styles in accordance with the Sourcing Strategy and provide recommendations for evolution.
  • Review and reconcile failed garment and fabric test reports.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product development, design, or production in garment manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of raw materials and garment construction.
  • Experience working with domestic and international manufacturers.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiating skills.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Outlook; experience with Adobe Illustrator and Product Lifecycle Management preferred.
