Product Developer

As a Product Developer at Nordstrom Product Group, you will play a crucial role in driving the development of Nordstrom-owned private label apparel. Your expertise in product development and negotiation will be key in building products that meet cost and quality standards. Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors, you will create compelling seasonal assortments that delight Nordstrom customers.

• Develop products engineered to cost standards and review prototypes for quality and design intent.
• Meet product development milestones and manage pre-production tracking and reporting.
• Negotiate with vendors on costing, timelines, and minimums throughout the product lifecycle.
• Create, revise, and manage tech packs and prototypes with accurate PLM system updates.
• Place developed styles in accordance with the Sourcing Strategy and provide ongoing recommendations.
• Review and reconcile failed garment and fabric test reports.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in product development, design, or production in garment manufacturing.
• Knowledge of raw materials and garment construction.
• Experience working with domestic and international manufacturers.
• Strong problem-solving and negotiating skills.
• Clear and effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and Outlook; experience with Adobe Illustrator and PLM preferred.
