Product Developer, Specialized

Summary

Responsible for driving development of Nordstrom-owned apparel private label product from concept to adoption, partnering with merchandising, design, technical design, and vendor partners. Works to meet cost and quality standards while managing prototypes, tech packs, and PLM updates. Follows a hybrid work model based at the downtown Seattle headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Develop products engineered to cost standards and aligned to brand aesthetic
• Review prototypes for quality design intent and minimum order quantities
• Meet product development milestones and manage pre-production tracking and reporting
• Negotiate with vendors on costing time and action and minimums
• Create revise and manage tech packs and prototypes with timely PLM updates
• Place developed styles according to sourcing strategy and provide recommendations
• Review and reconcile failed garment and fabric test reports

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years experience in product development design or production in garment manufacturing
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Knowledge of raw materials and garment construction
• Experience with domestic and international manufacturers and strong negotiation skills
• Strong written and verbal communication interpersonal multi task and prioritization skills
• Proficiency in Excel and Outlook experience with Adobe Illustrator and PLM preferred
• Ability to demonstrate capabilities through a costing exercise
