Summary
Internship supporting the Production Department in sample preparation, trim and swatch management, factory communications, and studio organization. The role provides cross-departmental exposure and hands-on learning in garment production tasks within a fast paced fashion studio.
Responsibilities
- Make swatches and apply them to cut tickets for contractors
- Prepare samples for fittings including steaming and measuring
- Create and maintain trim packages and count components like buttons
- Prepare shipments and assist with factory communications
- Participate in production fittings and maintain patternmaker style sheets
- Research and source materials trims and fabrics for seasonal collections
- Support factory pick up and drop offs in the garment district
- Transfer samples to and from PR and assist atelier with BOM updates
- Assist managers in keeping the studio organized and clutter free
Requirements
- Must be a current student
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
- Understanding of reading patterns; basic hand and machine sewing is a plus
- Knowledge or strong desire to learn woven and knitwear garment construction
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel; PLM database is a plus
- Knowledge of fabric types and the garment district
