Job Description

Summary

Internship supporting the Production Department in sample preparation, trim and swatch management, factory communications, and studio organization. The role provides cross-departmental exposure and hands-on learning in garment production tasks within a fast paced fashion studio.

Responsibilities

  • Make swatches and apply them to cut tickets for contractors
  • Prepare samples for fittings including steaming and measuring
  • Create and maintain trim packages and count components like buttons
  • Prepare shipments and assist with factory communications
  • Participate in production fittings and maintain patternmaker style sheets
  • Research and source materials trims and fabrics for seasonal collections
  • Support factory pick up and drop offs in the garment district
  • Transfer samples to and from PR and assist atelier with BOM updates
  • Assist managers in keeping the studio organized and clutter free

Requirements

  • Must be a current student
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Understanding of reading patterns; basic hand and machine sewing is a plus
  • Knowledge or strong desire to learn woven and knitwear garment construction
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel; PLM database is a plus
  • Knowledge of fabric types and the garment district
